3. Base shall be cut from a single ply of the material specified.
4. All letters shall be as indicated on The Institute of Heraldry (TIOH) Drawing B-8-58.
5. The loop shall be located on the vertical center line of the brassard with the base 1-1/4 inches +
1/16 inch below the top edge of the brassard and shall be attached to the back of the brassard as
shown. A bar tack may be used to secure the loop in lieu of box stitching at the option of the
manufacturer. However, the ends of the tape must be secured and completely covered by the
stitching. The top of the loop shall be caught in the hem and stitched to the lining. The thread for
stitching the loop shall conform to Type IC2, 3 Ply, Ticket No. A of A-A-52094
6. The attaching device shall be hook and pile conforming to Type II, Class 1 of A-A-55126. The
hook shall be Black HAN 67138 and the pile shall be Blue HX 67123. The hook and pile shall be
positioned and secured to the base fabric as shown using Stitch Type 301 with 12 stitches per inch.
7. A hook and pile fastener shall be used to attach the U.S. Flag patch in the location shown. The
U.S. Flag patch shall be manufactured in accordance with TIOH Drawing Number A-1-786 and MIL-
DTL-14652. The hook and pile shall measure 2 inches by 3 inches and match Blue HX 67123. The
hook shall be attached to the patch and the pile shall be attached to the base material using Stitch
Type 301 with 12 stitches per inch. The thread shall conform to Type IC2, 3 ply, Ticket No. A of A-
A-52094
