NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished
hub or die.
2. Piercing shall be as follows:
-1: As shown. Area inside and around lettering and between the parallel curved
bars shall also be pierced.
-2: As shown except that area inside and around lettering and between the parallel
curved bars shall not be pierced
3. For -1, a full forcer shall be used to bring up the design of the shield, eagle, and
wreath. At the option of the manufacturer, the forcer may also be used to bring up the
letters.
4. The insignia shall be dapped in a horizontal direction along a 3-1/2 inch ± 1/2 inch
radius.
5. Attaching devices shall be as follows:
-1: The attaching device shall consist of a screw post with thumb nut and two
registering prongs. The screw post shall be located on the vertical center line
1-1/8 inches ± 1/16 inch below the top of the insignia. The registering prongs
shall be located on a horizontal line 9/16 inch ± 1/16 inch below the top of the
insignia.
-2: The attaching device shall be prong and clutch type. Two prongs shall be
located on the horizontal line 5/8 inch ± 1/64 inch above the bottom of the
device and 1-1/2 inches ± 1/32 inch apart.
