NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished
hub or die.
2. The cloud and wreath shall be superimposed on the cross and shall be secured to
the cross by soft soldering or by use of two solid brass drive rivets.
3. If drive rivets are used, the length of the rivets shall be controlled to insure no
deformation occurs on the reverse side of the decoration.
4. Enamel color shall be green as indicated. The enamel color shall conform to TIOH
Hard Enamel Color Chip Number 12.
5. Epoxy resin (stoning epoxy) may be used in lieu of hard enamel at the option of the
manufacturer. When epoxy resin is used in lieu of hard enamel, the material requirement
shall be gilding metal or red brass.
6. Pierced areas shall be as indicated.
7. Decoration set shall consist of a regular size medal, a service ribbon, and a lapel
button all packaged in a presentation case conforming to MIL-DTL-14633, Type IV, Style 4
with a Class 1 or 1A pad.
8. The ribbon for the pendant drape and service ribbon shall conform to
MIL-DTL-11589/2.
9. The lapel button shall conform to MIL-DTL-11484/3.
