NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished
hub or die.
2. Piercing shall be as indicated.
3. The reverse side shall be flat, plain and suitable for engraving.
4. The reverse side of the wreath shall be engraved with the words "EXCEPTIONAL
SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENT". The letters shall be 1/16 inch (0.16 cm) block letters
centered on the midpoint of the wreath with the first letter "E" and the last letter "T"
equidistant from the integral lug.
5. Decoration set shall consist of a regular size medal, a service ribbon and a lapel
button all packaged in a presentation case conforming to MIL-DTL-14633, Type XV, Style 1
with a Class 1 or 1A pad.
6. The ribbon for the pendant drape and service ribbon shall conform to
MIL-DTL-11589/63.
7. The lapel button shall conform to MIL-DTL-11484/76.
