NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished hub
or die.
2. The pendant drape for the regular size (-1) civilian medal shall be a neck ribbon
fabricated as illustrated by the figure in MIL-DTL-3943 titled "Neck ribbon, Legion of Merit,
Commander." The pendant shall be attached to the neck ribbon using two jump rings. A
jump ring fabricated from 0.050 inch diameter wire having an outside diameter of 3/8 inch
shall be attached to the pendant. A neck ribbon ring fabricated from 0.050 inch diameter wire
having an outside diameter of 1/2 inch shall be attached to the pendant jump ring. The neck
ribbon shall be placed through the neck ribbon ring. The ends of the jump rings shall be
square cut, in line, and together.
3. Decoration set for military personnel shall consist of a regular size medal, a miniature
size medal, a service ribbon, and a lapel button, all packaged in a presentation case
conforming to MIL-C-14633, Type XVI with Type XVI, Class 2 or 4 pad.
4. Decoration set for civilians shall consist of a regular size medal with a neck ribbon, a
miniature size medal, and a lapel button, all packaged in a presentation case conforming to
MIL-C-14633, Type XVI with Type XVI, Class 2 or 4 pad.
5. The ribbon for the pendant drape and service ribbon shall conform to
MIL-DTL-11589/376.
6. The lapel button for military personnel shall conform to MIL-DTL-11484/195.
7. The lapel button for civilians shall conform to MIL-DTL-11484/198.
