NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished
hub or die.
2. Piercing shall be as indicated.
3. Enamel colors shall be as indicated. The colors shall conform to the TIOH Hard
Enamel Color Chip Numbers listed below. The white enameled areas in the five (5) rays on
the obverse side of the pendant shall be convex within the dikes.

4. Epoxy resin (stoning epoxy) may be used in lieu of hard enamel at the option of the
manufacturer. When epoxy resin is used in lieu of hard enamel, the material requirement
shall be gilding metal or red brass.
5. The pendant ring shall be formed from red brass and shall be soldered to the
pendant the ends shall be crimped closed on the back side and be 1/4 inch above the
solder point as shown.
6. The center portion of the reverse of the pendant shall be smooth, flat, and suitable
for engraving.
7. The neck ribbon shall be in accordance with Figure 9.
8. Decoration set shall consist of a neck ribbon with pendant, a service ribbon with
ribbon attachment, and a lapel button all packaged in a presentation case conforming to
MIL-DTL-14633, Type VII, Style 5 with a Class 1 or 1A pad.
9. The ribbon for the neck ribbon and service ribbon shall conform to
MIL-DTL-11589/80.
10. The lapel button shall conform to MIL-DTL-11484/10.
11. The ribbon attachment shall conform to MIL-DTL-41819/1.
