Matte Finish and shall match The Institute of Heraldry (TIOH) Metal Finish Chip Number 14.

PIERCING AND ATTACHING DEVICE:
1. Piercing shall be as indicated and are required on all badges.
2. The attaching device shall be prong and clutch type.
3. The prongs shall be located on the horizontal center line equidistant from each end
and 1 inch + 1/32 inch apart for regular size badges and 3/4 inch + 1/32 inch apart for dress
miniature size badges.
NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished hub or
die.
2. -1 through -8 may be nickel or rhodium plated with a mirror-like polished finish which
shall match TIOH Metal Finish Chip Number 16 for commercial sale only. For nickel or
rhodium plated items, the silver plating requirements shall not apply.
