CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
1. The lettering shall be appliquéd to the base in the position shown using Stitch Type 301 with
14 stitches to the inch (see The Institute of Heraldry Drawing Number B-8-66).
2. A bar tack may be used to secure the loop in lieu of box stitching at the option of the
manufacturer. However, the ends of the tape must be secured and completely covered by the
stitches.
3. The loop shall be located on the vertical center line of the brassard with the base 1-1/4 inches +
1/16 inch below the top edge of the brassard and shall be attached to the back of the brassard as
shown.
4. Thread for appliquéing shall conform the Type IC1, 3 Ply, Ticket A of A-A-52094. The thread
for stitching the loop shall conform to Type IC2, 3 Ply, Ticket A of A-A-52094
5. Lettering and base shall be made from a single ply of the material specified.
6. The color of the thread for appliquéing shall conform to White Cable No. HA 67101. The color
of the thread for sewing the loop shall conform to Dark Blue Cable No. HAA 67126
