Thickness: (at thickest point) - 0.064 inch (minimum) measured at chevron.
Finish: Type I - Rhodium Electroplated, mirror-like polish and lacquered.
Type II - The raw brass shall be dipped in a heated solution of brass activator and
Ebonal
C. solution and dried. The pieces shall be coated with a soft baking enamel pigmented to
produce the correct color, shade, and luster. The insignia shall be covered with a black finish
conforming to the Institute of Heraldry Chip No. 26 except the finish shall be flat or FED-
STD-595, color 37038.
Forcer: Eagle
- Partial forcer permitted.
Perch and Chevrons
- No forcer permitted.
Placement of attachment: Two prongs and two clutch fasteners are required. On prong shall
be fused (soldered or electronic fusion) to the center of the eagle's breast (back) and the other
prong shall be fused (soldered or electronic fusion) at the vertex of the Chevron nearest the
perch. The measurement between the center of the prongs shall be 15/16 (+ 1/32) inch.
Where used: Enlisted personnel work cap insignia.

1. When specified, the chevron(s) shall be 24 Karat Gold electroplated, mirror-like
polished and lacquered.
