NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to measurements taken from the Government
furnished hub or die.
2.
A forcer shall be used to bring up the globe.
3. Flat black enamel for Dash Number 2 shall conform to FED-STD-595,
Color Chip Number 37038.
4. The attaching device shall be a screw post and thumb nut. The
screw post shall be 9/16 inch + 1/32 inch (1.43 cm + 0.08 cm) long, 1/8
inch (0.32 cm) in diameter and shall have a No. 5-40 UNC-2A thread. The
thumb nut shall be 0.625 inch + 0.010 inch (1.588 cm + 0.025 cm) in
diameter and shall have a No. 5-40 UNC-2B thread.
5. The washer shall be made from any type of brass. The washer shall
have a 7/8 inch (2.22 cm) outside diameter and 1/8 inch + 1/32 inch - 0
(0.32 cm + 0.08 cm - 0) inside diameter. The washer shall be 0.020 inch +
0.003 inch (0.051 cm + 0.007 cm) thick.
6. The screw post shall be soldered or electronically fused to the
insignia in the position shown.
7. Trimming on both sides of the eagle's head to be accomplished
without altering or distorting the design detail.
