NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to measurements taken from the Government
furnished hub or die.
2. In addition to the finish specified, zinc aluminum shall be copper
plated prior to beginning the finishing process.

A full forcer may be used except on the outer ring.
4.
Pierced areas shall be as indicated.
Only the left hand piercing is
shown.
5. The insignia shall be spherically dapped to a depth of 1/8 inch + 1/32
inch - 0 (0.32 cm + 0.08 cm - 0) when measured from the back of the rim to the
high point of the obverse.
6. The attaching device for Dash -1 shall be a screw post and registering
prong soldered or fused to the reverse of the insignia. The screw post shall
be located on the vertical center line at the top edge of the shield and the
registering prong located on the vertical center line and the center of the
glory.
7. The screw post for Dash -1 shall be 9/16 inch + 1/32 inch (1.43 cm +
0.08 cm) in diameter and shall have a No. 5-40 UNC-2A thread.
8. The thumb nut for Dash -1 shall be 0.625 inch + 0.010 inch (1.578 cm +
0.025 cm) in diameter and shall have a No. 5-40 UNC-2B thread.
9. The registering prong for Dash -1 shall be 1/4 + 1/64 inch (0.64 cm +
0.04 cm) length and 0.045 inch + 0.010 inch (0.114 cm + 0.005 cm) in diameter.
10. The attaching device for Dash -2 shall be prong and clutch type. The
prongs shall be located at the intersection of the vertical center line of the
insignia and 1/4 inch + 1/6 inch (0.64 cm + 0.16 cm) in from the rim edge.
