NOTES:
1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the Government furnished
hub or die.
2. Enameled areas shall be as indicated. The colors shall conform to the TIOH color
chip numbers listed below.

3. Epoxy resin (stoning epoxy) may be used in lieu of hard enamel at the option of the
manufacturer.
4. The illustration shown is Dash No. -2. The design for Dash No -1 is identical except
there is no integral lug located above the nose cone of the missile.
5. The attaching device for Dash No. -1 shall be prong with pick and flat ball type clutch.
The prong shall be centered on the reverse side and fused or soldered to the lapel button.
6. The attaching device for Dash No. -2 shall be an integral lug and shall be cut into the
working die. The lug shall have a 1/8 inch ± 1/64 inch (0.318 cm ± 0.04 cm)outside
diameter with a 1/16 inch ± 1/64 inch (0.159 cm ± 0.04 cm) diameter hole centered inside
the lug. Each lapel button shall have a jump ring formed from a 0.035 inch ± 0.005 inch
(0.089 cm ± 0.013 cm) diameter brass wire mounted through the lug. The jump ring shall
be oblong and 1/8 inch ± 1/32 inch (0.318 cm ± 0.079 cm) long. The ends of the wire shall
be either straight or bias cut and shall be aligned and together. The jump ring shall be
lacquered.
